British free climbers Julian Lines, 49 and Mike Robertson, 58, set up these huge static lines for the team to move up into Mount Lico’s isolated mountaintop forest. The two professionals climbed Mount Lico in Mozambique’s Zambezia Province using traditional (Trad) climbing, then secured these lines at the top for the team. Here Robertson is assisting biologist Ana Gledis da Conceico Miranda up part of the 125 meter high pitch. Like most of the researchers Miranda had never used climbing ropes before.
